Spanish I
Welcome to Spanish class at Mission Middle School! This is a high school level Spanish I class offered for 8th graders. Upon successfully completing Spanish I in the 8th grade, students may register for Spanish II as freshmen. Bellevue Public Schools offers Spanish up to Level V.
In addition to an outstanding, rigorous curriculum developed by Bellevue Public School Spanish teachers, we use Holt McDougal's Avancemos 1 textbook series. Click here to access the textbook's online resources. This ClassZone website does not require a password. It has digital flashcards, review games, the @HomeTutor (a phenomenal review and practice component), and many other resources. The textbook publishers Holt McDougal offer another fantastic password protected website for which students have received a login and password. Students can use these to access digital copies of the textbook and workbook, view videos, and practice listening skills in Spanish.
If you have not yet registered on the class page, please go to our Edmodo class page to register. Sra. Miller has given students the access code. If you need it again, please contact her. Once students are registered, then Sra. Miller can originate an access code for parents to register, too. We will be submitting some projects online to our Edmodo class site. We will also use it for getting help or for continuing in-class discussions outside of class time.
In addition to any daily practice work, students should be reviewing and studying vocabulary words and grammar concepts on a nightly basis, at least 15-20 minutes each night. The textbook's websites and Links shared here are great ways to practice for those who have Internet access at home.
